About Mary Grace
Mary Grace Leon FNP-BC is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the ANCC. She has over 30 years of experience in the nursing field.
After graduating form Pennsylvania State University in 1987, Mary Grace moved to Tucson. It was in Tucson that she received her Masters Degree from Phoenix University in 2008 after 19 years of experience as an RN. Since receiving her Masters in Nursing, she has worked in various fields such as Primary Care, Vascular Care, Urgent Care, and Pain Management.
Prior to becoming an NP, Mary Grace Leon specialized in cardiac care. She initially worked at TMC in the post cardiac care unit. She eventually moved into the cardiac ICU. She worked in several local hospitals such as The Tucson Heart Hospital, Veterans Administration, and Carondelet. She eventually became one of the acting charge nurses in the ICU before graduating from Phoenix University. She also taught ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.) In addition she has worked both the Urgent Care and ER at UMC.
Outside of work Mary Grace is actively participates in her church activities, has written and published two books, and enjoys quilting and gardening. She has 3 grown daughters and 6 grandchildren she enjoys spending time with each of them.
Mary Grace was raised in the Appalachian mountains of Pennsylvania where her family had a small farm with cows, goats, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, and rabbits. She bred and raised Giant Lops and Checkered giants that she sold for pets and as food. She was a member of the American Rabbits Breeders Association as a young child.
